This Spitzbergen Explorer Art Safari voyage on the small expedition ship the 48 berth Shokalskiy takes us into the Arctic Circle to 80 degrees North around the island of Spitzbergen on the edge of the ice-cap.  Snow draped mountains rise high above the pack ice.  

It is the wildlife that makes this adventurous expedition so intoxicating: huge 200,000 strong colonies of little auks thronging the cliffs and shores, kittiwakes next to the cobalt blue glaciers, walrus wallowing in the shallows, Arctic foxes, whales, and the Polar bear, frequently seen hunting on the ice floes.  With 24hr daylight, we will make the most of our time amid this breath-taking glacial scenery, leaving our state of the Art Russian ship for excursions on zodiacs and on foot or enjoying the views from the decks.

We are happy to arrange your flights for you but offer you the option of sourcing them yourself.  We can also offer advice on your personal travel insurance.
