Art Safari's creative adventures 'out of Africa' to

india

Strokes of Tiger Orange and Peacock Blue

1st – 14th February 2011 tbc

The aim of this safari is to find the colours and rhythm of India, in the villages and palaces, and landscapes and national parks of Madhya Pradesh, central India. During the safari you will be treated to luxury as we travel off the beaten track, as well as to areas well-known for their tiger and wildlife sightings.

Karnha and Satpura Tiger Reserves are well known to tv wildlife watchers – the first has large numbers of tigers (often filmed) and the second is the prettiest and as yet undiscovered gem of wildlife-rich landscape, complete with streams and rivers (and the rare ability to get out and paint it all). The second part of our safari is to a palace, now famous as a centre of excellence for weaving and textiles, and we have several delightful stops en route, including Sanchi Stupa, India’s finest surviving Buddhist monument, the fascinating prehistoric cave paintings at Bhimbetka.

This safari hosts a wealth of wildlife, scenic villages and incredible scenery, ideal for colourful paintings and a magical and adventurous holiday.
