Tour in progress
This is a new destination for 2013, we have had many requests for an Art Safari tour to Madagascar.
Madagascar is an Indian Ocean Island situated off the south east coast of Africa. Known for lemurs, vanilla, coffee, smiles and huge baobab trees, it is a vibrant land offering glorious tropical white sandy beaches, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, canyons and very precious rainforests. The people of Madagascar have cultural roots in Africa and in Asia, with a strong French influence – what an intriguing mix!
This Island is crucial to World conservation; it is home to unique animals, including 70 varieties of lemur. Twisted and spiny Octopus trees are found in Southern Madagascar, in the west we will paint the huge bottle shaped baobabs.
We stay in lovely places where we can enjoy sketching lemurs at close quarters as well as exploring the other amazing birds and plant life as we tour the country.
We will explore with our sketchbooks, recording the landscape, animals and birds that we encounter as we journey around the Island.
Tour cost: from £3,370 per person sharing single supplement on request
