Delve into the culture, history and dance influences of this enchanting country using the river as our highway from Siem Reap to Battambang and Phnom Penn. Join this new Art Safari itinerary which takes us off the beaten track.
Angkor Wat and the area of Cambodia’s ancient temple cities is one of the wonders of the oriental world. Masterpieces of decorative details as well as of architectural style, its awe-inspiring ruins survive as testament to the spectacular achievements of South-East Asia’s greatest civilisation.
Imagine sketching amongst the strangler figs and kapok trees which entwine the ruins of Ta Prohm, the perfect temple-in-the-jungle! Almost untouched since it was discovered, this famous temple retains much of its mystery. The skills and sensitivity with which others are being restored are extraordinary.
Prek Toal is a floating village located on the north-eastern shore on the Tonle Sap Lake. The area consists of a vast undisturbed flooded forest where thousands of water birds come each year to breed during the dry season. As such, it is one of the most important places in South-East Asia for the conservation of endangered species such as storks, adjutants, pelicans and ibis.Throughout the tour we meet local artists and have the opportunity to share ideas.
In Battambang we have the great opportunity to draw and be entertained by young adults training at the Battambang Circus School. They are outstanding professional artists performing in Cambodia and all around the world with acrobatics, juggling, balancing, contortion, trapeze and clowning.
