Art Safari Workshops
Drawing from life
Monday 24 &/or Tuesday 25 April 2017
10:00 to 17:00
With Mark Boyd
Mark Boyd is leading a new two day course at Slimbridge Wildlife and Wetland Park this April.
At Slimbridge we have a fabulous opportunity to study and sketch geese, cranes and Eider ducks, as well a water mammals otters, beaver and water voles feeding by the side of water. This is the only place in the world you can see all six species of flamingo.
The small Nenes (Hawaiian geese) are thriving at Slimbridge and their numbers are now increasing in the wild.
In his former leading role stimulating youth and education work within the RSPB, Mark had limited time for his own artwork, so his artwork is exploding into the world of wildlife art at the moment, with drawings, collages and prints.
Mark’s approach is so refreshing – he will help you find lines you never knew existed (and then lose them), he will make you think about colour and markings. Above all he will give you a deeper understanding of birds and of your own approach to drawing and painting wildlife.
Mark will meet you in the Kingfisher Kitchen at 10am. We will send you a short list of art materials to bring with you.
