Seagulls & samphire

by Mary-Anne Bartlett on March 13, 2018

This is a wonderful 3-day summer workshop, spending lots of time outdoors and returning to develop our ideas in the Art Safari Studio.  The iconic Tide Mill is just a few steps away and Sutton Hoo, the mysterious Anglo Saxon burial site, is just across the river.

Mary-Anne leads this short art break with demonstrations, exercises and one-to-one tuition time.  Out and about, sketching and painting en plein air, venturing to parts of Suffolk that have enchanted artists, poets and authors over the centuries, river estuaries and  coastal villages, isolated churches and water meadows – your sketchbooks will fill with happy images of Suffolk in summertime.

We will lift share to painting locations to reduce the number of vehicles.  Enjoy the company of your fellow artists with fulfilling days of artistic exploration and convivial evenings.

In the evenings we like to go out to nearby restaurants together and we will also keep an eye on what might be on stage at nearby Snape Maltings.

These workshops take place in Art Safari’s riverside studio, where there is a wealth of material to be seen from the balcony and around the quayside.  To help you prepare we provide a short list of suggested art materials to bring with you.

Light lunches and refreshments are provided.

Cost:  £285 for your tuition, including lunches and refreshments
