There is inspiration every few paces in Italy! Paint the mountains of Tuscany, and visit gorgeous hillside towns, sweeping fields, and villas with cypress trees with artist tutor Vicki Norman.

No need to pack!  On a virtual holiday we travel in our minds to the and immerse ourselves in Tuscan colours, food, architecture.

Spend four days painting the landscapes and hillsides of Tuscany with Vicki Norman on a virtual holiday which will immerse you

Vicki Norman leads you via Zoom to viewpoints and sets you off into an extraordinary journey of painting, with demonstrations and attentive tuition as you paint some of the most picturesque Italian landscapes.  Soft colours and streaming light lead the artist into dreams of escape under a Tuscan sun.

In between your painting sessions Vicki will give you exercises and homework to help your technique and your appetite for this island of contrasts.

We will give you some recipes to try out between your painting sessions.

Learning via Zoom is highly concentrated and productive.  It allows you to delve into technique and imagination.

All sessions start at 2pm BST

Day 1: Meet Vicki and the Art Safari team on Zoom for three hours of demonstration and tuition time, which includes advice on painting mountains.

Vicki shows examples of her own paintings of Tuscany.

You will have the option to paint from a variety of images to suit your taste from a library of photos you will receive as part of the course package.

Vicki includes a slide talk on the work of the wonderful Macchialioli, known as the Italian Impressionists, to get us inspired.

You have time in between session to complete your work and submit images of your paintings for feedback on our private Facebook group.

Day 2: We meet again the following afternoon to tackle a second painting through the same process. Tuition will include finding colour harmonies in nature and tackling buildings.

Day 3: The third day is free for you to paint all day.

Day 4: We hold a final short meeting (around an hour) to review and share your work and insights from the course.

The workshop will be recorded so you will be able to watch the video online afterwards.

It’s going to be fantastic – and we have the perfect excuse to indulge in two days of delicious Italian themed food and drink to get us in the mood – we will send you some fabulous recipes from the region for those who want to really get into the spirit of Toscana!

  • A laptop, Macbook, PC, iPad or tablet
