‘I can’t draw a straight line’ … ‘drawing terrifies me!’
If you are overwhelmed by the thought of drawing, then this introductory workshop is for you.
Lorna’s encouraging and calming demeanor will guide you through the basics of drawing and learn to see in a different way.
In this 2½ hour workshop, she will introduce you to different drawing materials such as graphite, charcoal, and crayon. She will use fun drawing exercises such as speed drawing, upside down drawing, using a viewfinder, contour drawing and negative space to guide you through your fear of drawing. This will be a safe and comfortable environment for absolute beginners or for those who have had a bad experience with art.
The aim of the course is to allow you the opportunity to explore your own creativity and increase your confidence in making marks on a page in order so that you will find joy in drawing.
Following this, you may wish to undertake ‘Improving your drawing’ workshop exploring the elements that make a good drawing.
A full list of recommended equipment will be provided nearer the time, however you are certain to need paper, pencils and lots of enthusiasm!
