Three exciting and fun, expressive, drawing and mark making workshops to help you find freedom, identity and your own style.

Join Alice Angus and Liz Myhill for three days to explore your own style.  It’s an eye-opening process!

We will introduce experimental ways to approach drawing and share the excitement and joy of discovery.

The workshops will help you find new approaches to mark making that will bring vitality, expressiveness and energy to your drawing.

Over the three workshops we will guide you through a range of exercises which you can return to time and again to loosen up or experiment, complemented by longer drawing sessions building up your personal mark-making “toolkit” and how to use it expressively.

We explore:

  • Expressive mark making for drawing – using unconventional tools and familiar media in new ways.
  • Observation by engaging different senses – hearing, sight, touch, smell, not relying just on sight.
  • Capturing the vitality of movement in nature – ways to express time and movement in nature.
  • Practical tips and guidance to continue your journey in the studio or in the field outdoors

We will provide a pdf which includes a list of recommended materials (though you are welcome to start with whatever you already have) and full details of the exercises given in the workshop.

These workshops are suitable for anyone – whether you are a non-artist just discovering drawing or an experienced artist who would like to take time out to experiment and explore.
