Claudia Myatt is a well known marine illustrator who will help you navigate the tricky waters of drawing boats, painting the colours of the sea, tidal river and harbour scenes. We will also take a fascinating look at the history of maritime art, which for many centuries was done by sailors rather than by artists.
Our virtual voyage begins at the working boatyards here in Woodbridge and then and takes us down river and out to sea in calms and storms, from dinghies on the beach to tall ships on the ocean.
Suitable for beginners as well as experienced artists who feel they need more confidence and techniques to tackle these fascinating subjects. You certainly don’t need to be a sailor to draw maritime subjects; you just need to have a love of the sea and the desire to have a splash of salt in your sketchbook!
