Gain confidence in using watercolours in a fun and creative way...

Watercolours are a delight to use and incredibly versatile, but it’s easy to get discouraged when you first try them as they have a reputation for being difficult.  All you need is a bit of help and encouragement!

Watercolour basics is for complete beginners as well as those of you who have tried watercolours and got stuck, or get put off by the rumours that it’s ‘difficult’.

Join Claudia for a hands-on session which will rekindle your love of the medium and leave you with plenty of practical techniques to work on.

We’ll cover:

  • Materials, good and bad, and how good paper makes a difference.
  • How much water and how much pigment? Basic washes.
  • Wet on wet, wet on dry. What’s the difference and when to use them.
  • Lights and whites.
  • Brushstrokes and surprises – homework to inspire!

We will provide a pdf which includes a list of recommended materials (though you are welcome to start with whatever you already have) and full details of the exercises given in the workshop.
